Samsung Electronics and TSMC have started

available for their next-gen flagship phones.
So Samsung’s new flagship is out and has already
been tested. Especially when it comes to stability
of the all-new Ultra Thin Glass (UTG). One well
known video blogger (JRE) did it the hard way.
Samsung did it again. Unveiling the Galaxy Z Flip, it is
their second phone that has a touch surface that can
be folded. Unlike the Samsung Galaxy Fold with it’s
large screen and vertical folding, the Z Flip is different.
The next-gen flagship smartphone of Samsung is just
around the corner. Just in time for the MWC later in
February Samsung is about to show three new types
of their flagship line, the Samsung Galaxy series.
No good times for Intel at the moment. AMD still going
to take the lead in desktop processors while the 3990X
is going to invade Intel’s server and workstation market.
And now there’s a production shortage just ahead.
The CES will open soon and every major brand is about
to show their newest inventions. Samsung for example
has a 49-inch gaming display monster which has a
1000R curve. This allows a way better gaming immersion.
According to several news sites, there might be a big surprise on
February 18th, 2020 when Samsung is also releasing it’s newest
flagship phone, the Galaxy S11. Unlike it’s predecessor, the hardly
available Galaxy Fold, it’s display will be protected by glass.
The Galaxy S10 and the Note10 are the current
flagship cell phones of Samsung and they’re
providing good numbers in various benchmarks.
So should the S11, being leaked recently…
Not much is known about Apple’s newest CPU that is
supposed to drive the iPhone 11 and probably any
successor of the iPad lineup. However it is known that
it is fabbed at 7nm structure width. Thanks to TSMC.
When it comes to camera sensors for mobile devices,
Samsung is first to release new image sensors that have
more MP, more clarity in darkness and also a very fast
shutter time. The new Isocell GW1 and GM2 are here!
IFixit is a synonym for “Repair it yourself” when it comes
to our everyday gadgets we have in use. Unfortunately
some companies don’t like to see their devices being
opened and their innards exposed. Like Samsung…
Samsung is already stating that the first charge of Galaxy
Fold is sold out… Hooray! Err… wait a minute. Do we smell
another Galaxygate here? It seems as if first customers
report that their phone begins to black out (screen breaking)
When it comes to new gadgets and releases, Apple
is always in line for surprises. But also the apple fan
community takes it’s time to create interesting
mockup concepts of possible upcoming devices.
Ever thought, the Samsung Galaxy S10 is up to
level with the FaceID technology from Apple?
Well… it should be but it seems as if Samsung
still thinks that their security feature is secure.
Well, till now the iPhone XS Max was considered the most
expensive smartphone to date. Samsung took the step to
overtake Apple here and just announced the Galaxy Fold.
The special design is probably the reason for the price.
Samsung is quite active when it comes to releases of new hardware.
Just with the announcement of the Samsung Galaxy S10 series, they
also announce the Isocell Slim 3T2 20MP image sensor that could lift
the image quality of smartphones to a new level.
The Samsung Galaxy S10 is the successor to the current
top line model of Samsung. Now the prices for EMEA
have leaked and it seems as if Samsung is trying to have
the most expensive smartphone in their portfolio.
Samsung wants to take the crown back for the best
smartphone. The S10+ seems to be the perfect tool
to do so. While Dual-Cameras are state of the art for
now, Samsung features at least 6 cameras in the S10+!
Foldable phones were invented back in 2004 when the Nokia
2650 had it’s debute. However the “folding” was only for the
technics behind and not for the display as such. In 2018 there
are two companies showing concepts for release soon.
On PCs the RAM size is limited to 16GB per bank but yet
only 8GB are common and available. For faster RAM you
will have to take even smaller 4GB modules as the speed
takes it’s toll. But Samsung has set a new RDIMM record.
Samsung has recently released a new series of
external harddrives which base upon an internal
M.2 drive in a Thunderbolt 3 enclosure. With the
Thunderbolt 3 connector, the drive is reaching…
It seems as if Samsung’s PR department had a bad day
or they simply forgot to re-check the spots before they
released them. However it’s again an immature fight
about who has the better device…
So Samsong is preparing the release of the new Note 9(+)!
Apparently the video is still online in youtube but it is now
released on another site because we all know that videos
get removed too quickly as such “accidents” are annoying!
Sony has just released a 48MP camera module for smartphones.
With a size of just 0.8μm per pixel this module is one of the
smallest and most high-resoluting CMOS sensor ever made for
smartphones. But what about the image quality?
Well, it seems as if Intel faces new challenges. As of yesterday
Apple has announced that it won’t use Intel’s 5G modems in
it’s Apple product portfolio in 2020. So Intel is now reducing
production capacity significantly as other brands do not…
As if the bentgate affair of Apple iPhone 6 (Plus) wasn’t already a shock for
the entire mobile phone business, Vivo tries to claim new records with their
recently announced Vivo 5S. Although no Vivo phone has hit the EMEA
market so far (and probably never will), the specs are just crazy.
For some years, FullHD was the sufficient resolution for many areas
of entertainment, be it PC gaming, TV or console gaming. the PC
community however has evolved faster than the others and soon
2560×1600 became state of the art, also called 3K.
Once more it seems as if the end of HDD isn’t reached yet. Have we stated,
that Western Digital has brought out a 12.5mm HDD with 2TB capacity.
Now it seems as if Samsung (also part of HGST/WD now…) has managed
to squeeze 2 TB into a 9.5mm high HDD case which is just amazing.
Samsung appears to hate it’s customers. There’s no other explanation than
that after recent plans have been revealed that upcoming updates of the
firmware include a nasty region lock of foreign SIM cards. So you won’t be
able to pop in a local SIM to avoid roaming fees in certain countries.
Funny to see… Apple just has released it’s iPhone 5S in a new flavour,
namely White-Gold (which looks good btw… I must admit!), and just
now, Samsung sees itself in a position to “fight” back and brings out
a Galaxy S4 that is all shiny-gold. Like I said before… “Us, too!”
It seems as if Samsung wants to show Apple how to not design a good
smartphone. According to first attempts to disassemble the Galaxy S4 it
seems as if one who has a skilled hand in technics, can easily fix smaller
problems with the smartphone himself. The iPhone 5 is not easy to open!
It seems as if Samsung has trouble with almost every bigger company that
seals with electronics. Now it’s LG who has sent inspectors to the offices of
Samsung to search for patent violations. LG states that it is a bit odd that
Samsung is releasing big-size OLEDs nearly at the same time as LG does.
