Cloudflare replacing Intel servers
It seems as if Intel’s domain is crumbling as well.
Cloudflare is replacing their servers with AMD-based
systems that have EPYC 7642 processors inside. These
are 48-core server processors clocked at 2.3GHz base.

It took a while for Intel to make 10nm processors ready for
shipment. Now it looks like as if the production of 10nm
chips is running stable. Intel says that it will start shipping
Ice Lake mobile processors in June now.
It seems as if the battle between Intel and AMD takes a new step.
Especially when it comes to features, AMD does everything right.
The EPYC however is a server processor or at least a workstation
processor aiming at those users which demand CPU power.
On PCs the RAM size is limited to 16GB per bank but yet
only 8GB are common and available. For faster RAM you
will have to take even smaller 4GB modules as the speed
takes it’s toll. But Samsung has set a new RDIMM record.
