How good are foldable phones?

Samsung did it again. Unveiling the Galaxy Z Flip, it is
their second phone that has a touch surface that can
be folded. Unlike the Samsung Galaxy Fold with it’s
large screen and vertical folding, the Z Flip is different.
Everything’s 5G. That’s the motto for this years’ MWC
in Barcelona. LTE Next Gen is THE standard when it
comes to high-bandwidth data throughput for mobiles.
So it’s not a big surprise that every major brand goes 5G.
Foldable phones were invented back in 2004 when the Nokia
2650 had it’s debute. However the “folding” was only for the
technics behind and not for the display as such. In 2018 there
are two companies showing concepts for release soon.
Is this the tablet of the future? A concept has shown
a tablet that looks more like a scroll. And the mecha-
nism is similar. Either you can use the tablet like a
small version of an advertising column or unscrolled.
It seems as if the project of bendable phones
isn’t buried at all. Lenovo shows a prototype of
a bendable phone in a short video. However it
looks kinda odd and it has a strange aspect ratio.
