Mac programs easily to crash

It seems as if Apple has an internal problem with the Spell checking routine that
is serving many programs in OS X to use the correct words. However a simple
string may crash exactly this routine as the string ends up in a procedure that is
not supported properly and thus crashing every application using Spell checking.

100 years Grand Central Station

In New York, one of the biggest train station is now 100 years old and still
withstanding old and new age. With 67 tracks of which no far-distance trains are
leaving, it is for sure the biggest suburb-connecting train station. Opened on
February 2nd, 1913 at exactly 12:01AM it marked a new train traffic era.

Remember my post about Gigabit WLAN (a.k.a. WLAN 802.11ac standard)?
The problem was that I couldn’t get hands on a gigabit adapter to connect with
802.11ac standard. But already the a/b/g/n performance is already freaking!
272 MBit/s is possible with the builtin WLAN of my notebook. Fast already.

HGST raises the storage density

HGST (Hitachi Global Storage Technologies), which became a division of
Western Digital in March 2012, has announced that SAS-based server disks
in the 2,5″ form factor section have now a capacity of 1200 GB which equals

SIM-Unlocking in USA now illegal!

Seems as if cell providers in the USA had it with their “cheating”  customers.
According to a new law that will be active from January 26th 2013, SIM-
unlocking is considered a felony and will be punished after a trial period of
90 days. Penalties of 2500 US$ or even up to multiannual imprisonment!

Fast internet and browser limits!

So while the order of my new Horizon box has disappeared, I have reordered it
and with it the fast internet line Fiber Power 150. While the Horizon Box is still on
way, my new bandwidth seems to have already been applied. Puzzled to see
that my downloads boosted to roughly 17 MB/s I checked my line for speeds.

Even escalators are evil!

machines can be nasty during operation. in this case, an escalator in the New
York subway system went berzerk and just switched the direction while
people were on it. The chaos was programmed. But not only the direction
