As an eager user of facebook, you’re always
using facebook on your smartphone as well.
Thinking of the security, you have already
disabled GPS tracking for facebook.
Hardly any other phone has received that much attention
than the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. Where the phone became
highly anticipated in September 19th, 2014 by many users,
the Android users made a lot of fun of them.
As usual I am in front row when new things have to be tested. In this case it’s
cablecom and their new internet packages. The bandwidth has been ordered
(250/15) and was instantly set up. Not more then one hour did I have to wait
to benefit from the new speed. The speedtest.net result speaks for itself…
Usually, WLAN is mostly used for connecting end user devices to an
existing WLAN. But what if you have two rooms in your home and do not
want to lay cables in order to connect them. This is where WLAN bridges
or Network distribution kicks in.
On The CeBIT, AVM has today shown the successor to the already famous
FritzBox 7390. The 7490 series has been equipped with DualBand WLAN
offering 450MBit/s on the 2.4GHz band and up to 1300Mbit/s on the 5GHz
band. So with this new FritzBox, another competitor has entered the arena!
So while the order of my new Horizon box has disappeared, I have reordered it
and with it the fast internet line Fiber Power 150. While the Horizon Box is still on
way, my new bandwidth seems to have already been applied. Puzzled to see
that my downloads boosted to roughly 17 MB/s I checked my line for speeds.
Fellow blog readers! I know you’re waiting for daily updates. But at the moment,
my smartphone is either on snail network or even having no network at all. The
lack of a free public WLAN doesn’t ease up things. So I decided to write the
articles offline and put them online as soon as I am back for good!
Where most of the home WLAN devices still work with 802.11b/g/n reaching
theoretical speeds of up to 450MBit/s and 900MBit/s using MIMO techiques,
802.11ac with its 1300MBit/s is just approaching and first devices are available.
802.11ad as ne standard will allow 7 GBit/s using a 60GHz frequency band.
It seems the popular WPS technology has another set-back to deal with! While
the setup of WPA-based encryption is safe in most scenarios, the handling with the
long security keys can be a real hassle. That’s why the WiFi consortium brought out
WPS which lets one set up WiFi-Connections by simply pairing a device with a code.
