Just recently a report was stating that there’s a shortage
of about 310.000 IT specialists for jobs in Germany. To
cover that shortage, Angela Merkel however decided to
alter the Specialists-Immigration-Law.
It’s always a spectacle to see nature live. Especially when
danger is around the corner. As essential these elements
are for our life, they can quickly take the very same from
us if they unleash the full power on us.

The migration of all video files has finally been finished.
So from now on you will only find MP4 videos on this blog
The reason for the change was the fact that Adobe has
announced to drop support for Adobe Flash in 2020.

A lion is indeed a big animal you’d better not stand in way of
especially not if the lion is hungry. The team of Brave Wildlife
has tranquilized lions in order to measure their growth and
implant a tracker to monitor their growth and life in the wild.
Well, it seems as if Intel faces new challenges. As of yesterday
Apple has announced that it won’t use Intel’s 5G modems in
it’s Apple product portfolio in 2020. So Intel is now reducing
production capacity significantly as other brands do not…
While the current price plan is 13.99 US$ / 19.90 CHF
for the premium package, Netflix is already testing a
new price plan that will have 4 different stages.
The basic plan will be SD-only quality.

As if nuclear power plants wouldn’t be a safety problem in
general, it has been found out that Tihange in Belgium has
another flaws in their housing structure. That’s the building
that carries the core. A failure of the building would be fatal!

What happens if you let molten salt flow into cold
water? This has been tested by two young men in
their backyard. They poured different molten salts
into a bassin with cold water. Watch for yourself!
As you might have noticed, there are more blog entries
coming up in short period of time. At first I had to etch
out some kinks with the underlaying blog system. But
now most of the kinks are gone. Ther will be some…

If rich guys’ cars get involved into crashes, this can
become quite expensive. In this case the driver seems
to have underestimated the power of a McLaren 720S.
Totalling an Audi R8 it’s not only his own 300K US$…
Just few days after AMD has announced the release of
the new Threadripper beast, Intel seems to answer that
by unveiling first specs of the new upcoming i9 flagship.
With 8 cores/16 threads it is said to be as fast as the…
WordPress amazes me more and more the newer the
releases become. While security reasons are important
to perform updates, the added new features can become
a real nuisance.
If you thought, you’re safe to talk when around
on the streets, think again. According to a company
called WiSpear, it is now possible to hack your
smartphone from 500 to 1000m using a van.
AMD and Intel are on the racetrack again. Who will
offer the fastest CPU for the fairest price out there?
It seems as if AMD is tackling Intel once more by
releasing a new beast to the public in near future…
Incredible! Garfield has turned 40 years old on June 19th, 2018.
This gives that comic cat probably the record of the longest running
cartoon series. Of course Time has changed and so has the style of
Garfield…
I have done the update on the microsite for Rendezvous Bern
already to match with the 2017 lightshow. The videos are in
conversion already and should be online in the upcoming days.
Please have patience as video conversion takes some time…
…what’s going on here. Yes, it has become quiet in the
last months here. Lots of work to do and still no time at
home to perform all the tasks I want to apply on this blog.
And then all these updates… doesn’t make things easier!
It’s time, to bring the embedded video files up to code again.
As FLV seems not to be well-embeddable these days, I decided
to re-encode all previously embedded files to MP4 and have them
played back with a more modern MP4 video player based upon HTML5.
To all my blog followers: I wish you a good ending
2015 and hope to see you here in 2016 again.
Have a nice sylvester party and celebrate well.
May all your plans for the new year come true!
As you already know, I have a new companion around my wrist.
Now that this Apple Watch is with me for a month now, here’s a
report how this little gadget is performing in the everyday usage.
One thing is for sure: It will sport a whole day with ease!
Microsoft has just unveiled their new line of Surface tablets.
But despite of being a tablet, Microsoft sees their Surface Pro 4
as a new laptop. With the power of the new Intel Skylake CPUs
the compute power shall even outwit the 2015 MacBook Pro.
Ever been annoyed of a very slow internet? Yeah, me too!
Okay, a 250 Mbit/s line for downstream isn’t slow at all but…
if there wasn’t the notorious break on the upstream. And that’s where ewb enters the game with Fiber Internet.
Some of us still can remember films like Blade Runner or other
futuristic movies that show displays larger than houses or such
ones that are simply wall-mounted and flat. Okay, some newer
TV models are also extremely slim today. But…
Today it’s time again for April’s fools! Have you been caught
with fake messages or pranks played on you? If not (like me),
there’s some more subtle yet recognizable Aprils Fools news.
If possible, I’ll consolidate the best ones here for you.
As if things aren’t complicated already with Windfows machines and Mac
computers seemd to be the save haven for all those users who don’t want
to waste time on thinking about virus scanners and the like, there’s now a
very disturbing news circulating around.
As you might have already noticed, UK premier Cameron today stated that
encrypted chat tools on either device shall no longer be allowed or they get
banned (in the UK). Okay, the terror act in Paris wasn’t very good either
but using this as a reason to disallow normal people have privacy?
Only eleven more days to go until Apple lifts the curtains and
shows us our possible new communication companions. But
not only the iPhone 6(L) is/are to be presented. New rumors
came up telling that Apple will also show the iWatch.
With the release of Windows 8, the Sidebar and it’s gadgets have been
disabled as they see a huge security problem in them. Sure, they can grab
information about you, they can allow malicious code to infect your system
but they have good uses, too. Especially, when it comes to System-info!
Noone would have believed the Nightly News that has hit lots of local
media and tech magazines. But it’s true and official: Facebook has
bought WhatsApp. A whopping $19 billion whereas of 4 billion have been
paid directly, has been forked out by Facebook to seal the deal.
Happy new year to all of you regularly following my blog. May 2014 be a
year of happiness and the fulfillment of all your plans for the new year!
See you again here in 2014 with loads more posts from stuff happening
around the world. Enjoy your new year’s celebration party!
Funny enough to see that it takes 2 minor releases ’til Microsoft recognizes
that you’d better not change a running system. While Windows 8 is a real
goalgetter on tablets and touchscreen notebooks, it cannot get ground on
stationary PCs and classic notebooks. Win7 makes it’s rounds there.
