Man and Dolphin – They still trust us!

If there are really touching videos on the web, this is probably one of them.
A dolphin is swimming very close to a diver group distinctively signalizing
that it has something that hurts and hindering it from proper swimming.
By time one of the divers has recognized the reason… and could help!

When Ice meets frozen floor…

The winter is sort of strange. The temperatures are barely below zero degrees
celsius and thus it is raining black ice. What males it so dangerous, is the fact
that you don’t expect extreme weather conditions. But what looks like rain,
quickly turns into a thick shell of ice. The result: Extremely slippery floors.

Finally… the winter seems back!

Did the weather in the past weeks not look like wintertime (don’t tell me that
you consider 15 degrees celsius winterlike!) it is finally snowing again down
to 500 metres above sea level (the height level Bern is). But for how long will
the snow last and how long is the timespan until the next thaw time?

Weather gone crazy

Although the calendar says that we’re midst in Winter, the temperature
doesn’t make one feel like so. While in some places of Germany, Austria
and Switzerland the temperatures hit the 20-degrees-celsius-mark, the
question about the missing winter is just rectified.

The future is near: LCD contact lens!

Have irisses with pictures long been a dream vision in movies, it now

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow…

The winter is finally arriving in Europe, too. While signs two days ago pointed
to a green christmas time, it seems now as if the nature’s white blanket is most
likely to stay. As one of those people who like the four seasons, I am pleased
to see that weather’s like what it should be in December.

Powerslide and bus – A perfect dreamteam?

Winter is coming and with it, streets tend to get slippery. Not that autumn
has these side-effects, too, but most accidents happen in intertime when
snow and ice covers the land. The bus driver in this video seems to have
been surprised by one of these ice covers on the road but acted correctly.

Not only humans have an urge for hygiene

Water taps are for humans only? Nah! There’s a little critter that develops
a distinctive taste for water and how to utilize it. Looks kinda funny when
an everyday item is not used from humans but from an animal.
With this, I wish you a nice sunday. Enjoy the weekend.

When tornado meets fire…

Nature always has spectacular moments. But when two phenomenons
meet, then it’s good when you’re equipped with a camera. In this case,
a bushfire has started in Australia and caused the air to twirl up forming
a tornado. The fire itself uses the funnel to climb up into the smoke clouds.

Climatic changes: Tornado in NY!

When discussing about climatic changes caused by man with a co-worker,

she was shittin’ me but Google taught me better: On September 8th, 2012
a tornado has struck the NY borough Queens leaving some destruction.

A natural phenomenon like this is very rare to see. But when it happens, it

amazed, that interesting pictures are taken. Showing you six pictures may

Venice, Tornado, impossible? Nope!

If you ever thought, Tornadoes are only for the American continent then guess

if you compare the size of it to common tornadoes. Detailed information is not
available yet. Currently it seems as if there are no killed people, fortunately.

Nothing is faster than light – honestly!

What thrilled the whole world last year seems to have been finally put back to
normal again. Have measurements shown that neutrinos seemed to have been
a tad faster than light, more recent measurements at CERN have shown that also
neutrinos stick to Einstein’s Relativity theory (E=mc²). So light is still the fastest!

Easter holidays and snow

Well, so there we are. Holidays, and no sun in sight. Typically for when you’re
off work. It cooled down 12 degrees in Bern within the last 12 hours. And
when I woke up I had to notice that snow was falling. At first I thought
“There must be something wrong” – But when I went outside, I felt the cold air.

Amazing nature: Bees vs Hornets

I really like nature videos. One fact is that it’s amazing how nature itself is
dealing with unexprected changes and the other is how tiny little critters
are fightimg a bigh behemoth. In this video you’ll see how japanese bees
are finishing off a big hornet. 30 Hornets can kill 30’000 bees in 3 hours!

The sun and it’s dazzling surface

The sun for most of us is nothing more than a big glaring ball in the sky that
spends light, warmth and sunburns. However with the right equipment, you
will see things on the surface of the un that simply is stunning. The satellite
“SDO” has spotted and filmed a firestorm on September 25th, 2011.

Better check where you fall asleep…

…a phrase, this little critter could have helped avoiding a quite uncomfortable

Boring cold Monday…

The sky is gray, the temperature far below “cozy” outside, not much snow and the obligate
lateness of some public transportation vehicles due to some technical glitches such as
blocked doors, non-working panels, and outside, the track switches. Seems, that’s most
common for wintertime. Anyways it’s about to get warmer in the upcoming week.

my energy into the next work week and do the best to visit my friends in Munich again.

The weekend, strange trains and Munich

This weekend I am going to Munich again and also see a good friend of mine who celebrates
his 30th birthday. Odd to see some frosting in a train car that is heated up to felt 25°C. Due
to the lack of a stable cell network and the repeated non-working status of the local cell
networks I’ll upload the pictures later on. Funny to see the snow blowing into the coach.

The winter at its most ghastly side!

Well, I must say, i love winter! As most as the other seasons! But what I really hate is
coldness below the magical -10 °C spot. The sibiric air stream that transports cold air to
most parts of Europe has made the thermometer to freeze in and and many facilities to
fail working properly. Amongst these are public transportation and other public services.

Extreme cold wave from Russia

It seems that the winter finally wants to show teeth to us. Has the January been too warm
(approx. 4 degrees over the average meridian), so are temperatures rarely breaking the
-10 degrees barrier in the upcoming days. Metereologists say it isn’t too uncommon for
February to be that cold, however it is uncommon after such a warm January.
