64 cores for the masses?

The Ryzen Threadripper 3970X is the 32-core
Threadripper from AMD and already a beast when
it comes to multicore computing. Dotriaconta-core
CPUs aren’t often seen for personal systems.

So the 3970X is a gamechanger here although the price with 2000 US$ per CPU is quite high.

But AMD goes one step further. The 3990X seems to be the first 64-core (tetrahexaconta-core) processor available for the standard Threadripper mainboards supporting the actual Zen2+ Threadripper processors.

While the release date is set to February 7th, 2020, the price will be at 3990 US$ (MSRP).

Also the processor will clock way lower compared to the 3950X as it’s TDP is still 280W but hey, is this a beast of a processor and it will definitely cause headache in the Intel camp.
