Apple MacOS resistent to virusses?
Think again! It seems that Flashback has infected 600’000 MacOS-based
systems and made them zombies of a botnet. A new java virus called
Backdoor.OSX.SabPub.a or SX/Sabpab-A is partly based on the flashback code
and executes malware in the backround without the user’s notice.
To check if your Mac is infected, you may want to check for the existence of
/Library/Preferences/com.apple.PubSabAgent.pfile /Library/LaunchAgents/com.apple.PubSabAgent.plist
So far, Apple computers are only particularly endangered but more and more the focus of the virus programmers is aimed on popular systems such as Windows or MacOS!
Apple has also provided a java update that includes a removal tool for Flashback. If it is capable pf removing Backdoor.OSX.SabPub.a or SX/Sabpab-A will be seen within the upcoming days.
