5G, the next-gen LTE is coming faster and faster to many
countries. in France, the minimum start fee for 5G frequency
blocks has been set to 2.17 billion Euro. When the auction
finished in Germany, the income was about 7 billion Euro.

The intention behind this minimum fee is that not every smaller provider will try reserving frequency blocks. Also there’s an estimate with the incoming so that the network will receive enough money to be expanded and upgraded fast in order to provide 5G in good quality to the customer.
