Again ASUS fights against Apple and their MacBooks – ASUS just released their
newest Ultrabook of the ZEN series. With 15 Inches it’s usually no ultrabook
at all but the other sizes (height, weight) allow this description anyways. With
a Geforce 650M and a 3617 Ivy bridge processor it’s darn fast!

12.5mm, 9mm,7mm – The HDDs of the smaller form factor have been
flattened time by time. the last generation (7mm) is supposed to be
placed into Ultrabooks. These however get flatter and flatter, too, so
another shrink has to be done. WD did so and brings 5mm Hybrid-HDDs.

ASUS is one of my favourite brands when it’s about computer peripherals.
During the IFA in Berlin, ASUS took opportunity to present (amongst
other nice goodies) their newest creation of Ultrabooks. Okay, Ultrabooks
aren’t something spectacular today because almost every brand has one.

Intel seems to have ideas for wireless charging of other peripherals wire-
lessly using induction. As smartphones more and more support inductive
charging, Intel wants to make a cooperation with IDT and place a charging
chip into ultrabooks which can then charge your PDA while using your PC.

The CES has opened their doors in las Vegas some days ago and interesting
items have already been shown. So has Victorinox, manufacturer of the
legendary swiss army knife, shown a prototype of a 1TB-USB-Knife.
HP shows it’s Envy 14, a 14-inch-size Ultrabook, Huawei a 6.2mm thin phone.
