When it comes to elevators, the technology has not yet
advanced much. The most advanced elevators allow you
to pre-select the floor you want to go to and (if there are
multiple shafts available) assign one to you.

So while pre-selection in elevators is top-technology while our smartphones can already process our spoken words and do what we ask them to, this technology has not yet been implemented in elevators.
