The FSK has now entered the internet…
Now it finally happened… It seems as if the German Self-Regulatory Body for
for the legally regulated protection of minors has entered the Internet. In
times, where swearing language, pornography and violence is omnipresent
also in social networks, newsportals and the like, this signet may now also…
be seen on websites. I wonder if this kind of self-regulation will be adapted to webpages as there’s no real protection at home anyways.
Mostly, youngsters and minors are watching films not suitable for their age despite the fact that it is legally forbidden. So I doubt that this campaign will succeed as the Internet is a real vast space. And this campaign only applies to german sites as the FSK may not have the legal power to force this self-regulation on companies and their homepages not hosted in Germany.
However interesting to see a site with such a signet anyways even if it looks kinda ridiculous!
The signets are equal to those on DVDs and Blu-Rays:
