The German BKA to fail with trojan!

Seems as if the german BKA (Federal Criminal Police Office) still has no tool
to tap the encrypted VoIP lines or EMail traffic of Suspects. The trojan horse
“Staatstrojaner” still does not comply with current law specifications and
thus is illegal to use on any private computer yet!

While in the USA tapping of lines and computers is almost a natural thing and covered by law (how else would FBI&Co. be able to spy on almost everybody?), Germany still respects the rights of Privates and thus forbids the FCPO to use the trojan horse for any tapping action until it complies with the strict guidelines for spying software and forensic software guidelines.

However till December 2011 the trojan horse has been used until the CCC (Chaos Computer Club) has detcted that the trojan horse is transmitting data unsecured or not secured properly.

So Suspects subject to criminal activity still can use VoIP and secured EMail to write about their actions and organization… at least in Germany…
