\"\"When it comes to supercomputers, there are
\nchallenges all over the world. If you take a look
\nat the TOP500 list then you’ll see that Asia and
\nUSA are currently fighting for Rank 1 on this list.<\/p>\n

But there are also competitors from Switzerland and Germany.<\/p>\n

SuperMUC is the newest competitor and has ben set operative on Setember 25th<\/sup>, 2018<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

70PB storage, 700TB RAM, these are numbers that might sound weenie against the “Summit”, but if you regard it from the point of view as an all-purpose system, SuperMUC might show “Summit” it’s limits as “Summit” gets it’s power from GPU cores. SuperMUC might get Rank 1 as an all-purpose Super Computer when it comes to AXV512 processing power – a weakness of sole GPU calculation.<\/p>\n

And as this is not the full scaled super computer yet, there might be other surprises coming soon as well.<\/p>\n
