As of now it seems as if
Apple will stop using Qualcomm’s network chips.

With the next-generation of Apple’s iPhone, Apple is going to use network chips solely from Intel who have recently shown their 5G modem chips to the public.

This is severe for Qualcomm as Apple was one of their largest customers. And also Qualcomm has invested a lot of money to bring up some LTE+ network chips as 5G is the next-generation market for mobile communication, allowing extreme high speeds in data transmission. First providers already announced to bring 5G to their customers soon. Apple earlier said that they wouldn’t use Intel’s 5G modems first (read story here) but it seems with the newly announced intent to drop usage of Qualcomm’s 5G network chips, Apple will consider using Intel network chips now. With the loss of Apple as a customer, the shares of Qualcomm will probably face another dip as they recently had a big leap of 7%.

Apple and Qualcomm seem to have trouble in their partnership especially after Qualcom has sued Apple for patent infringements.
