Today I was in the M\u00fcnster of Freiburg As you can imagine, M\u00fcnster churches are bigger
\nthan regional churches. And when you know of the size of the Cologne Dom or the Ulmer
\nM\u00fcnster, you will probably know of their size also. Is the Frauenkirche in Munich also very
\nbig, the M\u00fcnster of Freibug is a lot larger. As cameras aren’t liked inside, I used my iPhone…<\/p>\n
Please keep in mind that the quality may by far not compete with a real digital lens reflection camera but I think, the pictures may give you an idea of what I am speaking of.<\/p>\n
If you enter the M\u00fcnster, this building fulfills you with quite a lot of reverence and respect to the people who built these large churches with bare hands, rather unmodern methods and materials and most of it, it is the more impressive that these buildings have withstood almost 800 years. The M\u00fcnster of Freiburg has even surpassed World War I where lots of houses in Freiburg have been destroyed by bombs of the allied forces, that attacked Germany therein.<\/p>\n
Also I took the challenge to step up the 256 steps up to the tower platform of where you have a gorgeous view upon Freiburg. The other steps up lead to the bells that are widely heard over wohle Freiburg.
\nThe mechanical clock that keeps the big tower clocks just at the right time is also a masterpiece of it’s own and may impress you with the art it acts when a quarter hour has passed and the pell has to be rung.<\/p>\n
