Okay, some newer<br \/>\nTV models are also extremely slim today. But&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->&#8230;can you imagine a Truck&#8217;s loading area covered with screens that show you the traffic ahead?<\/p>\n<p>No? Me neither? Until I stumbled upon this video from Samsung today.<br \/>\n<div style=\"width: 640px;\" class=\"wp-video\"><video class=\"wp-video-shortcode\" id=\"video-6464-1\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" preload=\"metadata\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"video\/mp4\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.netspark.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/Safety-Trucks-von-Samsung-Heckdisplay-f\u00fcr-sicheres-Ueberholen.mp4?_=1\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.netspark.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/Safety-Trucks-von-Samsung-Heckdisplay-f\u00fcr-sicheres-Ueberholen.mp4\">https:\/\/blog.netspark.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/Safety-Trucks-von-Samsung-Heckdisplay-f\u00fcr-sicheres-Ueberholen.mp4<\/a><\/video><\/div><\/p>\n<p>The questions I wonder about:<\/p>\n<p><strong>How are the displays powered?<\/strong><br \/>\nSuch big-size displays consume quite a lot of power. Okay, a truck&#8217;s alternator can generate huge amounts of power though yet there&#8217;s a lot to consider when it&#8217;s about mobile power.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What about the integration of the display?<\/strong><br \/>\nIt seems quite a challenge to integrate these displays into the doors of the loading bay. and if there&#8217;s a crash, well&#8230; it gets expensive&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong>What&#8217;s the latency of the video signal?<\/strong><br \/>\nEven milliseconds can decide between life and death&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>All in all still a very cool idea to make the streets safe but it&#8217;s questionable if so many truck haulers are equipping their rigs with these (life-saving) displays.<br \/>\nBut what we can say is that transparent trucks have arrived!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Some of us still can remember films like Blade Runner or other futuristic movies that show displays larger than houses or such ones that are simply wall-mounted and flat.
