The problem is, that the driver license card can only fit 34 letters into the corresponding field. Currently the issue is solved that her first name is just left blank and her surname is shortened by one letter at the end.

However the Hawaiian government now has fond a solution to get her full name on the card. So is the field now expanded to 40 (wooot!) letters allowing to write at least J. Keihanaikukauakahihuliheekahaunaele on the card now.

The new specifications are that the first name can hold up to 35 letters and the surname can now hold up to 40 letters allowing to write her full name on the card.

Apart from that, the name is odd anyways. The reason is that she inherited the name from her husband with whom she is married since 1992. Her husband got the name from his grandfather who received the name in a dream. Weird story, weird name, indeed. Or did you successfully read out the entires surmane without any mistakes? I tried for at least 30 times now and yet I didn’t manage to do so without mistakes.

I also wonder what her signature looks like or if she’s abbreviating her surname then…

Not only can unspeakable names cause trouble during communication but also when it comes to official documents that simply don’t have enough space to write out an entire surname.
