As the repair of such a cable is often<br \/>\nvery complex and expensive, the avoidance of such incidents is crucial!<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->As that said line is a very important connection node between Africa and Europe and also between Africa, Australia and Asia, the cutoff would have had a big impact on the internet access of Africa!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It is unknown what the real intention of the divers was but it is expected that either political or financial reasons with extortion were the real reason.<\/p>\n<p>Two other underwater cables have also been damaged on March 22nd.
