So ebay has changed it’s logo after 17 years. But that’s not all: The fees for
\nan auction are risen also. So while the max capping for an auction was 45
\neuros, it’s now 75 Euros. The fee for a successful auction is 9% of the bid
\nprice. An item sold for 100 Euros for example has a fee of 9 Euros.<\/p>\n
The net win to you: 91 Euros.<\/p>\n
So in order to profit from the max capping, your item should be more expensive then 880 Euros… but selling such expensive goods on ebay is very difficult unless it’s a car, boat, house, exclusive jewellery or lthe like.<\/p>\n
No wonder why people tend to invest into newspaper announcements and local store blackboards to sell their (used) goods as ebay gets too expensive for that. Alone in the past I already noticed that a “bargain” quickly turned into a false friend when comparing to online offers.<\/p>\n
The problem is that ebay is still often misused to offer low-quality goods for high prices. There are many reports of fraudolent auctions.<\/p>\n
The other negative aspect is, that auctions still get pushed thru organized parties that have specialized on that (against money, that is!). According to ebay’s terms of use, this would be considered “fraud” but ebay seems not to put much effort into blocking such fraudolent auctions. At least the complaints are still numerous.<\/p>\n
So what’s the common thrill to bid at ebay for a specific item when you can get it from your trusted reseller for almost the same price? maybe it’s the kick of gambling? The urge to save even the litle penny on a specific item?<\/p>\n
I don’t know… but one thing is for sure. the last time I was using ebay, was 7 years ago… and there’s no thrill in using it in the future also…<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
