Their<br \/>\nnewest lawsuit case is about 31 million US$<br \/>\nfor three patent infringements.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->According to different sources, the lawsuit is based upon the following statement:<\/p>\n<p>The damages are for iPhones sold from July 2017 and contain chips used by Intel, which replaced Qualcomm as a components supplier. In 2016, the company started using Intel modems in some models of the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. Now, Apple has opted for Intel\u2019s modems over Qualcomm\u2019s in all its latest phones.<\/p>\n<p>This means that Qualcomm demands damage payments of up to 1.40 US$ per iPhone in Damages Apple has caused to Qualcomm during Apple&#8217;s switch from Qualcomm modems to Intel modems.<\/p>\n<p>Although it seems to be the same case where Qualcomm once demanded 331 million US$ per iPhone model (in total almost one billion for 3 models in total!), this is just one sidecase and the big lawsuit for Apple is just moved to another time (about a month from now on.)<\/p>\n<p>Then it&#8217;s again time for both to fight in court&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It seems as if Qualcomm tries to squeeze out money from Apple wherever possible.
