France and it’s government’s odd plans

Well, taxes are good for all kinds of things for the public to be financed. So that
everyone takes his part in the Finance, he has to pay taxes, taxes like V.A.T.
income tax, tax on alcoholic beverages, tax on tobacco, gambling, social tax
and all other taxes you may be aware of.

Today the french government has anmnounced that it will raise another tax to finance the economic savings plans for the upcoming years.

With the tax for sugar-based beverages, Coca-Cola finally is pi**ed enough to stop investments to a beverage production facility in France. The investments are in the height of 17 Million Euros. Coca-Cola has stated that the investment is put on ice until further notice (read full article on the Wall Street Journal).

Although taxes are necessary to keep the whole system running, I think, too many taxes are just stupid. The people are already paying all kinds of taxes and with this tax, products of beverage producers become more expensive. This can’t be good. In this fight, Coca-Co0la has took side of the people and demonstrates with them.

Especially as Coca-Coly employs 3’000 people in france, the tax might be a big slap in the face of Coca-Cola. And not only Coca-Cola would be affected. Also Nestlé, Pepsi and other producers of sweet beverages might be affected by this tax, meaning that also their products will become more expensive.

Gheez, where the USA are topping off with all their funny and stupid laws (my favourite are the following ones), the european countries are inventing more and more stupid taxes.

New York state: It is prohibited to ride horses in public Office buildings – no source on ths given
Indiana: In Indianapolis, No horse shall be driven or ridden on any street in the city at a speed in excess of ten (10) miles per hour. – Source: Code 1975

So what will come next?

Here are the top 10 dumbest taxes in history (believe it or not: The USA even here scores!): Read the article
