Rendezvous at Bundesplatz – Bern 2011

As I have already posted some videos on lightshows in Dresden and Prague, I was
finally able to witness such an event myself in Bern. The Bundeshaus is the stage.
The 17 minutes presentation shows the history of Switzerland and how the swiss
confederation assembled over the years. Spectacular to see!

If you’re in Bern, you can watch the show daily at 19:00 and 20:30 for free. The show will be ongoing till November 26th.

Update: Check this blog microsite for the whole series!

Note about the video:
This is the lightshow onto the Bundeshaus in Bern 2011.
Simply stunning how the swiss history is being shown.
The show can be seen from October 14th to November 26th twice at evening at 19.00 and 20.30. No entry fee.

Don’t miss it when you’re in Bern!

Attention: Thanks to the music industry GEMA and IFPI, it may occur that this video may not be available in your country. As I have found out, Starlight Events has used the following list of songs in their presentation.

Der Blaue Reiter – Prologue: Into The End Of The World
Heat Miser – Massive Attack
Maria Callas – Casta Diva
(three non-identified songs)
Yello – The Race
(one non-identified song)

As it seems, youtube disallows showing a video in certain countries even if the songs have been recorded with the video (clearly audible as you can hear the people whisper!) – Update: No longer an issue as the video is now locally stored!
I hate it when YouTube is applying censorship where it is unnecessary.

Of course, the rights of their respective owners shall be untouched but censorship in such a harsh way ain’t good anyways and let the music industry get more and more hated by those who only intend to share their moments with the world…

This is how the swiss confederation assembled since 1291 to it’s form as of today:

Year Canton
1291 Schwyz, Unterwalden, Obwalden, Nidwalden, Uri
1332 Luzern
1351 Zürich
1352 Zug, Glarus
1353 Bern (Berne)
1481 Freiburg (Fribourg), Solothurn
1501 Basel (Bâle), Schaffhausen

1815 Neuenburg (Neuchâtel), Wallis (Valais), Genf (Genève)

Today the 26 cantos form the swiss confederation:

The Rütlischwur is dated to 1291 and marking the beginning of the swiss confederation initially consisting of the cantons of Uri, Schwyz, Unterwalden, Nidwalden and Obwalden

Curia Confoederationis Helveticae means translated “Guildhall of the swiss confederation”

“Die Wirklichkeit ist nur ein Teil des Möglichen”

Friedrich Dürrenmatt

translates into “The reality is only part of the possible”

Dürrenmatt’s citation should inspire you to read between the lines and also think of these things you usually don’t believe in them existing.
You will probably hear this citation from Astrophysicians who reseach beyond the limits.
