There we go: SmartCover solely from Apple!

Seems as if Apple had it with all these Copycats who copy ideas off others. In
this case, the SmartCover for the iPad is affected, as Apple has successfully
filed the patent for it (registered: 17.09.2010). So for all those manufacturers
like Generic, the air is getting thinner. A new wave of lawsuits coming up?

MegaUpload: Files still safe?

It seems as if MegaUpload’s files are still safe as the four parties still can’t
agree. The Hoster and Dept. of  Justice agree that the files shall be deleted
as the running costs are enormous. The attorneys of MegaUpload and the
MPAA want to keep the files. Both to use them for law-related purposes.

Viacom vs. YouTube

Wherever I am reading articles, it’s about lawsuits from company 1 vs company 2
Today it’s Viacom against YouTube (Google). Viacom had a lawsuit running
against YouTube for allowing broadcasts of unlicensed clips and music materials.
In 2007 Viacom filed for lawsuit agains YouTube. Since then the lawsuit has…

As if Yahoo doesn’t have enough trouble and problems right now, it seems
as if facebook is now “repaying” Yahoo for their attempt to sue facebook for

lawsuit against facebook, so is facebook now filing a lawsuit against Yahoo.

Huawei soon to be sued by Apple?

Although I really appreciate other manufacturers to come up with good alter-
atives to Apple’s new iPad, I still fear that some manufacturers seem to seek
for the thrill of being sued by Apple for design patent violations. The newest
tablet from Huawei, the MediPad FHD seems to make no exception here.

Megaupload sued heise.de for an article

It seems that lawsuits in any part of our life will define the day in the future. In this case,
heise.de got sued by Megaupload for an article about Megaupload. To be more exact, this
phrase was the spark for the fire: “Megaupload pays uploaders of very popular files”. The
case has been closed now and Megaupload has to pay for all costs, the lawsuit has caused.

Cell network carriers not liable for wiretap

The Ninth Circuit Court for Appeals in the USA has put down a lawsuit of many private
persons who have filed for a lawsuit against Cell network carriers who allow the NSA to
tap the line of customers without prior notice and without a definite suspected case.
It seems, the NSA still holds tight to their right to spy on innocent people!

Samsung vs. Apple – Smile please!

Well… Christmas is in the Go and if you thought, They’re giving Apple a break
(or vice versa), then you’re definitely wrong. Samsung again tries to raise three
more lawsuits (in total 7 then) to even up with Apple, who claim 6 lawsuits
against Samsung at the moment. The patents are very trivial!

Apple vs. Motorola – again!

It seems to be a black day for Apple. The courts in Germany have decided that Apple
violates a patent of Motorola that deals with GPRS. Apple still seems to be calm yet
announced to take further actions against the verdict. Apple also doesn’t see it’s christmas
business endangered although Apple is currently not allowed to release new devices.

Apple… you can’t be serious!

Apple has done many lawsuits in the past. And one was about their logo where
it was hard for me to find similarities that may infringe with patents or copy-
rights of the Apple company in Cupertino (read here). This time I think, they’ve
gone too far! A small tea room owner got sued for her logo she has patented.

Apple in trouble… once more!

Seems as if the guys at Cupertino get no rest at all. Now a real near competitor
from Fremont (That’s approx. 7 miles away from Cupertino) is suing Apple for
patent violations. S3 formerly known for integrated GPU and much earlier also
known for own graphics cards, sees two of it’s patents violated by Apple.

New day and new patent lawsuits arollin’

It’s incredible what’s possible on the patent “market” – Although I can understand that
Apple is defending their intellectual goods such as the design of the iPad which Samsung
has derived it’s Galaxy Tab from, it’s unconducive for the IT market to block and sue.
But exactly this is now being repeated by a small company, called Internet Machines!

Samsung vs. Apple – second serving

POW! Samsung has given second serving to Apple. It seems as if Samsung also
plans to prohibit the sale of the upcoming iPhone 5 in Europe also. Basis of the
sale prohibition is still the violation of wireless technologypatents Samsung is
holding. If a sale prohibition would actually come true, iPhone 5 may delay!

Idiotism made in USA…

The USA, country of unlimited possibilities. Also country of unlimited idiots and rather
dubious lawsuits. One of these is made in July 2006 where a private Person, called
Allen Ray Hackard (51), has fired up a lawsuit against Michael Jordan and Nike.
The sum: The astronomic number of 832.000.000  simoleons. Crazy stuff? Indeed!

Apple vs. Samsung – Next fight!

Let’s look back: What happened? Apple has sued Samsung for violating design patents
So Apple won the fight and the sale of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 is now prohibited until further
notice. Today, it seems as if Samsung vows revenge for this and started suing Apple in
France – also for violating patents in the cell phone transmission sector.

You may ask now what the heck is going on? Apple against the rest of the
World? If you read articles like this one, you may think exactly the above.
In this case, Apple says, the Logo of the food company looks too similar to
the well-known Apple logo. For me, it looks more similar to the LG logo…

Has Apple gone berzerk?

I’ve read good news about Apple, I’ve read bad news about Apple, I often
agree with Apple when they sue copycats, I hate it when they try to save
their monopoly on tablets by sueing Samsung using patents that are tri-
vial. But today is the day where Apple has finally lost my respect!
