AMD unveils Radeon HD 8000 Mobile GPU

AMD seems to see time running out for them and thus unveils their 8000
GPU series. While NVidia has already announced the Geforce 7xxM series,
it’s the only logical step, AMD could have done now. The question still is if
first customer devices with the new GPUs will become available in near time!

Otherwise AMD again runs for the title “Vaporware”, a soft-/hardware item that is only mentionned but not released for a prolonged time!
The customers already are waiting for the next-generation GPUs that support new features of DirectX 11, while common GPUs still do fine in gaming.

Interesting though that the diagram classifies a 8800 equal to a 7700 nowadays. So what’s left for the Enthusiast sector when there’s a big gap in the Performance+ Gaming sector next to the 7800 series?

Still there is no more-detailed information available about Clock speeds, memory, bus width and eventually TDP (which is essential in the notebook/DTP section!).

So all we can do right now, is to wait until AMD spreads out more detailed information.
