Wintertime, snow walls and records

While in Goms, Switzerland the snow already stacks up to 2.5 metres, one
would think, it’s unbelievable. In Japan, however, the mountains and the ocean
weather streams allow much higher snow records. up to 15(!) metres the snow
may pile up there and the streets are still passable. You don’t believe it?

Even I could not believe this!

Then wath these pics and videos and be amazed!

This is also the reason why some buildings in Japan have a second entrance in the second floor for the wintertime.
The ocean winds, containing high moisture, are pressed against the mountains of Honshu resulting in extreme snowfalls. The pictures may give you an ide how this looks like:
