Call me the second Kasparov…

…just kidding! This man is simply the best chess player in the world. But why
this bumptious title then? Well… you know I try to beat the AI on my chess
game on the iPhone with the highest number of queens on the checkerboard
ever possible (it’s nine btw.) – Till yesterday I managed to get eight on it!

Today I finally managed I never thought of, possible. I was able to beat the AI with nine queens. the AI was unable to catch any one of my pawns (yet I had to trade in my other figurines except one tower…

The last AI-beatup with 8 queens brought me to the idea on how not to stalemate the opponent king and exchange all the pawns into queens. Took me two tries (the first one ended stalemate with 7 queens, the second one ended in checkmate of the AI due to a dumb move of me…) until I got the final result.

The AI was set to easy-to-medium so that he does not do extremly silly moves and also avoilds getting into stalemate easily.

The key lies in how to lock the AI not to break free and also not to move into positions to stalemate. Notice the King on e3… his task is to block the diagonal bomb squares from the queens on c1, d2 and f2.
This allows the AI to jump onto more fields. The queen on f8results from the last pawn I exchanged… The queen on f3 (with f8) builds the left moving frame while the rook on h2 is the right border. This forms a one-column small moving channel where the black king can only move between g5 and g6. Not much room at all but works fine!

What will be my next move? Hmm… I can’t decide… (irony mode…)

guessed right? I moved the protected queen from f8 to f6 and thus checkmated the king on g6.
The classical “Kiss me, I’m married” move. However the black king doesn’t seem to be THAT happy
about the white queen’s cuddling attempt!

♕f8-f6# – FTW!

Update as of September 29th:

I managed to do another 9ish queen meeting on the chess game. This time I also was able to save 2 rooks!
And I managed to achieve all that within exactly 4 minutes!

The black king’s thoughts in this moment: “Shit! Why do chessboards have borders” while being stuck at a4
and the queen trying to hug the black king. Darn situation it is… for the AI this means!

Yupp! One goal less to achieve!
But wait… hmmmm… Blitz chess has also been achieved: Scholar’s mate – 2 (TWO!) seconds and the AI is done!

Guess, the ultimate goal is to checkmate the AI without loosing a figurine? Noo… also already done, see Scholar’s mate / Blitz Chess…

So what could possibly move me to play that chess game any longer? Maybe to set the AI checkmate with the most queens possible at higher setting (mid-to-heavy)?
We’ll see! this story ain’t over!
