I hate it when good game series get wasted because a gaming company,
let alone the biggest among them all, doesn’t have the financial outcome
it has prospected in advance. So what happened, you may ask? Well, as
of today, Electronic Arts has officially stated, that C&C and it’s studio…

The recent spying actions and scandals of the USA and NSA are drawing
their circles. Not only are several countries sort of pissed off being spied
on, no it is also the fact that Barack Obama is still defending the attitude
that it is perfectly okay to “monitor” allies’ operations and actions.

Nothing is more annoying than an update to a newer version of a software
part of your smartphone or tablet. I got me a Google Nexus 10 which
initially runs on Android 4.2.3. After setting up everything including the
Google Play Store, I got notified about Jelly Bean (Android 4.3).

Is this the last bunch of devices branded “Nokia”? – The currently finished
Live event has brought up six new devices for us to expect in the near
future. Beginning the sales in the USA, the EMEA will see most of them in
early 2014. So let’s have a close look, what’s coming on to us!

Ever thought of a restaurant where you sit on a toilet bowl? Or even eat
out of one? In Los Angeles, a new eatery has opened with toilets as theme.
The result looks quite disturbing yet funny, however it may not hit
everyone’s taste. Interesting to see that such weird ideas still come true.

Windows 8.1 is out. With it, the start button came back (although the function is
still doubtful as a single left click simply shows the tiles surface again. Sure the
update brought back some functions back to the user. Yet there are essentials
missing, Windows 7 users (like me) still want to have.

Some people think, a railway gate that is down, still invites for trespassing.
Tough luck when the nearing train is so near that you get hit by it. But the
real tough luck is, when a second train is arriving. In this hit’n’run, a
woman tried to outrun the police for unknown reason.

A question, many people would answer with: “Loud enough” or “loud as a
pneumatic drill”. While the first expression cannot be clearly defined, the
second one is defined with 90 to 100 db (quite loud). But these days,
the fans of the Kansas Chiefs have set a new world record in crowdyelling.

Otherwise you might find yourself also confronted with a gun. This hap-
pened in Brasil where a younster with a (fake?) gun forced a biker to
dismount his vehicle. The driver’s helmet camera took the whole thing.
Some racing, the hit’n’Run and the car driver who “helped” the driver.

…the phone. A phrase, Apple iPhone users see since the iPhone 5s. But
not only Apple has this feature now! HTC is the first manufacturer to
have a phablet (5.9″) in it’s portfolio to allow users to secure their device
by fingerprints. The HTC One Max is the first Android phone with this!

Nokia more and more combines with Microsoft. Another big indicator
for this is the closure of SymbianOS and Meego. While the step for Meego
is somehow understandable (the N9 is the last phone using Meego!), the
closure of SymbianOS is a bit odd since all LowCost-Nokias use it!

Samsung appears to hate it’s customers. There’s no other explanation than
that after recent plans have been revealed that upcoming updates of the
firmware include a nasty region lock of foreign SIM cards. So you won’t be
able to pop in a local SIM to avoid roaming fees in certain countries.

The financial crisis over? For sure not. Although many indicators point
to a recreating economy, the USA has another black day in it’s history:
Last happening 1995 when Bill Clinton had to shut down administrative
services, the scenario has now happened again. 18 years later!
